If you are a member of an organization, there are usually several ways to SERVE the members of that group. I belong to a group called American Business Women Association. We meet on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at Hallbrook Country Club in Leawood, Kansas from 11:15-1pm.
I joined this group a couple years ago and I was encouraged to ‘get involved’ to get my name out there, so I could continue to thrive in my business. I was asked to serve on the following year’s Board of Directors and when I agreed, we decided the best place for me is Vice-President of Finance, which is basically the Treasurer for this Chapter.
Even though we ‘meet’ once a month, there are fundraising activities and After Hours events and New Member luncheons to add to the fellowship this group offers. Getting involved to actually SEE how this organization works, was a perfect fit for me and for my schedule. I encourage you to say YES when you are asked to HELP. It’s so important to take those Connections to the next level of involvement and you WILL be Blessed by it.
