It has been said “Of course I brought my A game…I don’t even HAVE a B game…” How many times have you DREADED attending a Networking event? What would have happened if you had just stayed at home (or in your office) and sent a substitute or another marketing representative?
The importance of the Networking organization, whichever one/s you at attend, is magnified by the potential risk of doing more harm than good for your company if you are not ON !!! Try so hard to stay positive, to greet people with enthusiasm and encouragement, and to ALWAYS say, “What can I do for YOU?” If you don’t FEEL up to it, then by all means, DO NOT ATTEND !!!
Even with all the fabulous follow up skills in the world with that stack of business cards you collected, your “not so great” first impression may not be forgotten.
