Do you always wear a GREAT name badge, perhaps with your fabulous logo on it and do you always wear your badge on the right side of your suit? We shake hands with our RIGHT hands and our identifier goes on that right side…name/face recognition is certainly easier when the badges are consistently worn on the right. I can walk into a room of professionals and instantly tell the TRUE networkers. Yes, there are two schools of thought on this subject but this one has proved consistent for me.
SO what is ON your name badge? Yes, your name and your company name but what else…if the print it too small to read, that is not as effective to those meeting you for the first time…or even the tenth time. Do you want your LOGO to be the first thing they see or your NAME? It really depends on you and your company; in other words, if you have worked several places, people most likely know YOU, and then will find out where you work secondly. If your company brand is the identifier here, then that logo can be more predominant on your badge. Whichever way you WANT to be known, an expertly created name badge will do the trick.
