Trouble getting up in the morning?

Do you have trouble getting up and getting started for the day?  Is motivation one of the things that the at-home business model appealed to you initially but now you find yourself stuck in your PJ’s for hours and you end up taking your shower around 1 p.m.?  You can be your own best cheerleader and your own best motivator. We really can’t rely on others to get us up and going each day.

One thing I have found helpful is to get a set of pompoms, even at a toy or party supply store, and put them near the bathroom mirror or the dressing table or wherever you go each morning to get dressed. It’s important to get motivated and off to a great start each day. We are our own best cheerleaders and sometimes we need a tangible reminder of that fact!

“People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing; that’s why we recommend it daily.”  Zig Ziglar

Put your best self forward for each event and always remember: You never get a second chance to make that first impression.

And please know, all you have to do is SMILE!  It amazes me that I see so many gloomy Gusses at meetings. You can tell they are having a bad day; a bad client experience; trouble at home…Oh my goodness, this would have been a GOOD day to forego that networking agenda.

A Little Encouragement Please
We could all use a bit of motivation each day…who is YOUR motivator ?

Cathy Weaver

Cathy Weaver began Networking full time in June of 2008, when she founded her Miracles With Water company. She started Networking all over the Greater Kansas City area and was soon referred to as a ‘Master Networker’. Her involvement in these groups over the years has actually awarded her designations such as 2012 Volunteer of the Year for the Olathe Chamber of Commerce; a four-time Bartlett-Olson Membership Achievement Award Recipient; and Cathy was voted into the KC Magazine’s 2013 Class of Most Influential Women. In 2018, Cathy was selected as the Kansas Women Business Advocate of the Year by the Kansas Department of Commerce. With the success of her Kangen Water business, dba Miracles With Water, Cathy also found the time to write 3 books: "Networking On Steroids" published in 2012, "He Hit The Clouds Running...and never looked back" published in 2017 and "Networking On Steroids PQ" published in 2020. From #water to #networking to #grief and beyond, Cathy may be that person YOU would like to have speak to your group, virtually, of course.

  1. Hi Cathy! You are simply AMAZING with everything you do!

I had a thought and wanted to get your valuable feedback on it. There are many networking groups around (thank you for the list). As you said, the majority of these networkers are sales people – self employed, entrepreneurs, own a home based business, etc. How many of them are maximizing their opportunities and how many are struggling and need some basic support – like an accountability partner, different approach ideas, etc. Do any of the “networking” groups do support activities? Is this a need that needs to be met?

Please let me know your thoughts – and don’t sugar coat it, I’m looking for your true opinion.

Thanks and have a productive day!

    1. Hey Irena – I always tell people a group is only a good fit for you if you put into it that which you wish to receive – we only get out of anything what we put into it – and the same applies to networking…some groups encourage 1:1 appointments and others strive for accountability partners to keep members on task. We know it’s like herding cats or controlling an army of volunteers but the bottom line is, having a strong support system in any field is majorly important. Rather than relying on a networking group to accomplish the accountability piece, I would suggest a business coach. Devon Plumberg is who I would suggest, as she has a fabulous reputation for helping her clients get the results they strive for. Her number is 913-706-6727 – hope to see you very soon, perhaps at Wise Women Connect. Our first event was a HUGE success and I would love to see you attend our next event on October 5th !!!
