What Happens in a 1:1 ???

          How many times have you attended a Networking event, met someone you MAY want to get to know a bit better, taken that first step to set up a 1:1 coffee meeting, and then got STUCK with what to say or how to approach this new person ???

The first thing I would suggest to get the conversation started, after the How have you been – This weather is amazing today – Did you have a nice Holiday – is to say something like “Tell me about you” or “What is the very best thing that happened to you in 2016?”

There is NO doubt about it, people LOVE to talk about their favorite subject, which is THEMSELVES, and with the right questions, you will find out EXACTLY what type of person he/she is.  You can discover how much a part their family plays in their work life, and vice versa; you can find out if pets and vacations are important; you can easily discover their attitude also – Your Altitude Depends on your Attitude – and many things in between.

Who will you meet this week ???  What will you say ???  How will you guide that conversation ???  What will be your follow-up step AFTER your 1:1 meeting ???  Stay tuned !!!
