How many 1:1 appointments do you have each month ??? Do you call for the get-together or do you wait for others to make this first move ???
When you meet someone at a large gathering and collect their business cards, WHAT will you do with those cards ??? THIS is your opportunity to make that first move to get to know the other person better SO CALL and ask for a meeting.
You need to agree on the date and time and then you select a location that works for each of you … NOW what will you say/ask/do during that meeting ??? Do you bring samples of your product – NO – this is NOT the time for pushing your product or service… this is the time to get to KNOW that person and what makes them tick.
What happens if an hour or so has passed and they have STILL not asked one thing about YOU or your company ??? It is time to leave…!!! A true professional makes the interaction work BOTH WAYS … you will be able to tell if this person is completely absorbed in themselves or truly interested in other people…if that hour passes and there has been NO questions about you, your family, your company, your success journey, they are truly self-absorbed and most likely NOT a good fit for your product/service NOR the other Networking groups you belong to !!!
